Healthy Child, Healthy World

By admin | April 25, 2008

I really believe that the public library is one the best uses of my tax dollars.  I have been using the library to satisfy my unending need for books and magazines while significantly curtailing my own bookstore purchases.  This saves me money and helps the earth by reusing reading materials.  They even have an online reserve list at www.hcplc.org.

Our local library has a fantastic selection of up to date material - including books in the now popular green living category.  While I have read a few of these books (which I hope to “officially” review soon) one has really stood out.  The title is Naturally Clean: The Seventh Generation Guide to Safe & Healthy, Non-Toxic Cleaning.  This book has a quick overview of different household chemicals and their pro’s and con’s plus simple tips to help keep a naturaly clean home.  The website it links to http://healthychild.org/  or www.bluebutterfly.com also has some great information in their five easy steps to living a healthier life.  I signed up for their email newsletters on child health and green cleaning so I will post about their utility when I start getting them.
